Biographical Sketch:
Dr. William Ray Mofield was a news broadcaster, professor of journalism and mass communication, Murray State University administrator and historian. He was born in Hardin, KY on July 3, 1921 and passed away on March 23, 1995 in Benton, Kentucky. He recieved his Ph.D. in Communications from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Mofield was a pioneer in journalism and started the first FM radio station, WPAD, in Kentucky. His most well known interview was with Alben W. Barkley on the eve of his election as Vice President of the United States of America. He was very influencial in the continuation and preservation of the Big Sing.
