McCracken County Public Library Digital Collections Collections

Collection of photographs of rural buildings from McCracken and Ballard Counties taken by the late John M. Massey. Included in these are farms, houses, barns, stores, schools and more. In the late 1970's and early 1980's, John M. Massey was a skilled bulldozer operator working primarily in McCracken County, KY and Ballard County, KY. He was also knowledgeable enough to realize the importance of preserving the structures he was tearing down through photographs. He wrote many descriptions on the backs of these photographs which helped us add some life to this magnificent collection. If you or anyone you know has more information on any of the photographs shown here, please contact us at specailcol@mclib.net. Thanks to Mike and Judy Campbell for their donation of these items to the McCracken County Public Library Local and Family History Department.
