Biographical Sketch:
Ruth Greenman was born on Epperson Rd. in 1912. She was married to Herman Martin. They had 4 children; Peggy Martin in 1929; Robert Carter Martin in 1931, who was killed in the Korean War in 1950; Helen Martin Atterbury in 1937; Ann Martin in 1939. She lived in Oak Ridge, TN during WWII as a mechanical worker and was an electrical inspector, but spent the majority of her life on Epperson Rd. She learned to crochet at an early age from nieghbor, Mrs. Jones. She learned to quilt while living for a short time in Detroit, Michigan in her early 20s from another neighbor. She remarried Raymond Greenman.
