Visible are businesses such as West Kentucky Motor Company (611 - 615 Broadway), the Weille Building (617 - 619 Broadway), Meacham Stores (621 Broadway), Johnston Cleaners (623 Broadway), Broadway United Methodist Church, and more. The photograph appeared in the March 7, 1937 edition of Paducah Sun-Democrat with the caption, "FROM A WINDOW in the Irvin Cobb Hotel the camera saw (top left) flood waters climbing higher on the West Kentucky Motor Company and other Broadway buildings adjoining it."
