Myrla Peck, born April 27, 1897, was a professional musician and music educator from Paducah, KY. After studying music in the states and performing in professional concertos, she moved to Berlin, Germany where she studied piano, voice ,and music theory from 1922-1924. She returned to the states and taught music for the rest of the her life. She passed away on September 13, 1987 in Paducah, KY.
Description:
Myrla Peck recalls her education in the music field, study in Germany from 1922-1924 and experiences there, value of currency, German attitudes, theatre groups she worked with, schools where she taught, and gives her opinion on music education and value placed on it today.
