Arthur Edward Childress; First Class Yeoman; Paducah, Kentucky; Born in Caldwell County, Ky., Jan. 28, 1889; Son of Thomas E. and Cordia Childress. Enlisted June 11, 1918. Had four years previous service in the Navy on the U. S. S. West Virginia, cruised on the western coast. Volunteered for service for the period of the war. Enlisted at Louisville. Sent to Norfolk, Va. Was assigned to duty in the Armed Guard Detail Office. Discharged December 19, 1918.
