Description:
The sternwheeler DUQUENSE (Way 1374). According to Way's Packet Directory, 1848-1983, the DUQUESNE was a sternwheeler towboat (213.3 x 34.3 x 5.6) was built in 1887 in Cincinnati, OH under the name H.M. HOXIE. She was bought and the name changed to DUQUENES and used to transport coal from Pittsburgh, PA to New Orleans, LA. In 1915 she was taken to Pittsburgh, PA and eventually dismantled. Other unidentified boats appear in this photograph.
