Former roustabout Andrew Collin Robinson was born around 1866 in Tennessee. He and his wife Edmona Haste were married September 19, 1901 in McCracken County, KY. He is listed as a deckhand and rouster in both U.S. Census records and Caron's Paducah City Directories. The couple resided at 1124 Jones St from 1904 until their death. Mr. Robinson died December 27, 1944 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery. Edmona died February 15, 1949 and is also buried in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Robinson appears in Mary Wheeler's book Steamboatin' Days, on pages 40 and 41, where she gives him credit for the song B'y' Sara Burned Down and states that he was on CITY OF BAYOU SARAH (Way 1051) on its last voyage.
