The photograph appeared in the March 7, 1937 edition of Paducah Sun-Democrat with the caption, "FROM A WINDOW in the Irvin Cobb Hotel the camera saw (top left) flood waters climbing higher on the West Kentucky Motor Company and other Broadway buildings adjoining it."
