Biographical Sketch:

Helen Attebury was born to Herman Martin and Ruth Greenman in Little Cyprus, Marshall County, KY, in 1937. She lived in Oak Ridge, TN during WWII with her family. After the war, she returned to Reidland and married. After moving to Detroit, Michigan for a short time, she returned to Reidland. She had two daughters; Kimberly Lee Attebury and Susan Lee Attebury. She took up art from her father and brother, Robert Carter Martin, at an early age. She took art classes while attending high school in Detroit, and then attended Paducah Junior College where she took drawing courses and also learned sculpting from Jean (Sic). She worked as a chemical operator at GAF company.
