Mrs. Katherine Truman Cooper was born on March 11, 1903. She attended the University of Kentucky, Peabody College, and Vanderbilt University. She went on to study English at Oxford University in England before spending her career as an English and Journalism teacher at Tilghman High School and superviser of the school newspaper, the Tilghman Bell. She married Dewitt T. Cooper. Mrs. Cooper was an officer of the Kentucky Council for Education and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She died on December 16, 1991 and was buried in Mount Kenton Cemetery in Paducah, KY.
