Description:
Catfish caught by James Harris (Red) Warner using a technique called snagging fill up the trunk and ground just behind the car. Snagging requires a large and strong pole. A treble hook is attached to the line and cast into a strong current such as those below Kentucky and Barkley dams. Weight added to the line would take the hook deep into the waters where the big fish stay. When the line is reeled in a fortunate cast might snag one of those big fish. He would often fish before dawn, sell his catch to a grocer, and then get cleaned up to work at his radiator repair shop all day. Photograph is dated July of 1957.
