Former roustabout, Barney Allison. Mary Wheeler writes in her book Steamboatin' Days, that Uncle Barney Allison was also known as Doc and was an herb doctor. He appears in Steamboatin' Days, on pages 31 and 32 where he is noted for the singing of the song Im Goin' Up The Rivuh.
